My First Time…Baking A Pie
If it weren’t for Madame Seashells, I would never have done this. Last night, I baked my first ever apple pie, with her help of course. We did it over the interwebs – on Skype – and we had so much fun.
This is how it all went down, though I didn’t even think to take pictures until we were about half way through…

Mine may have not been the best-looking pie in the world – I had some trouble with my crust edges – but it tasted awesome!
We had a really great time. Now to figure out how to do the same thing out shopping.

Have a great Saturday, everyone!

That’s a wonderful looking pie! If only the interwebs allowed you to share.
Cleo looks like a tough supervisor…
It looks perfect Mandy!
Thanks T!
I don’t know what I like more, the pie or the kitty helpers? They are both fabulous
I’ve never made a pie either, great job.
The kitty helpers are the best, if you don’t mind fur in the pie LOL.
This is so awesome! This was so much fun, although if we had done it in the same house, we would have only had one kitchen to clean! Now for our shopping trip!
PS I’m gonna reblog yours cos I am working on final preps for my tugboat man.
PPS Does he look like you thought he would?
It was so much fun. And Mr. Tugboat, for some reason I thought he would have darker hair. But he was still a handsome devil!
He’s a total blondie! When I met him it was golden, it gets lighter in the summer. Yup, I love straight blonde hair–opposites attract, huh? He only has a beard when he’s out to sea in freezing weather.
He is like the same colouring I am. And yeah, I typically like dark men, so there you go.
Isn’t that funny?
you are right, opposites attract.
Reblogged this on Enchanted Seashells…Confessions of a Tugboat Captain's Wife and commented:
A FIRST in the world of Skype/internet/blogging FRIENDSHIPS! Good friendships can blossom miles and even countries apart. I loved baking with Ms.FurFiles, and next we’re going to have another adventure together!
I’ll post my pics and my version of our baking day as soon as the captain leaves!
Looks like it was so much fun doing that. And you got good pie to eat after you were done!
It was, and I did!
Congrats to you ~ love that it was a team effort via skype and with a little bit of help from your fur kids as well!
The best part was the joint effort and the kitties!
I love this–isn’t it great to use the internet for such positive purposes? Just pure good.
I need to reply to this too, yes, you’re right, peachy, it is the BEST positive use of technology!
Still trying to figure out how to Skype while at the mall…
we can also do Face Time cos we have macs
True.
That’s too sweet! He pie, and the Skype collaboration. Enjoy!

I love making apple pies, and I have issues with crust edges too. =) The last one I made I got a little inventive and made Apple-Strawberry pie. Deeeewishous!
I love that you and Seashells made pie together over Skype! That is all kinds of awesome! Congrats!! Looks like a lo of fun was had…even for Jackson!
Yes, even for Jackson. LOL
And strawberry apple does sound delicious!
This is so cool! I love it
It looks delicious! I love Jackson!!!
Ya gotta love Shells, huh?
Sounds like you two had great fun!
And what great cats you have!
she is and they are.
Yum! Did Jackson and Cleo dig in? I wonder…once I had a cat that looooved Pop Tarts.
Pop Tarts? I believe it. No, Cleo and Jackson didn’t want the pie. But Cleo does love cookies. And our other cat Lionel is obsessed with zucchini bread. He’ll chase me around the house just to get a little nibble. Crazy cats.
I had a cat who went nuts over saltine crackers…go figure!
I also had a cat that loved chips. It must be the salt.
Our cat Gypsy goes bonkers for American cheese from the deli. If I open the meat and cheese drawer in the refrigerator, he comes running!
I’ve had a few cats that loved cheese. So funny.
