My Children Are Running The Show This Weekend, Like What Else Is New?

This is a busy weekend at our house, so I’m going to keep this short and sweet. Plus, my computer is in the process of being fixed, which is why – right now – I’m using someone else’s. Note to my daughter: when you “borrow” my computer (which I’d prefer you never do again), do NOT – under any circumstances – click that you want to update some software, and then suddenly decide that it’s taking too long and try to restart the damn thing. As the guy at the Apple store said yesterday, “Computers don’t like it when you mess with their operating systems. They can get a little antsy.” No shit.

Anyway…[long sigh]…last night, my son’s band had their first “real” show, translation: they had their first paying gig. They played seventeen songs – ten of their own and seven covers. If you are interested, you can listen to their demo on SoundCloud. They were fabulous. Video to come, but here is a picture from their first ever photo shoot. Lots of “firsts” in the past two weeks. Still waiting on their “first” platinum selling album (which may take a while, but if I know my son, it’ll happen), so he can then buy his own damn stuff and stop using mine. My favourite headphones are still missing, BTW.

Today, we are going to see my daughter’s dance recital. She dances competitively and works as a choreographer part time. I can’t show you anything from this year’s line-up yet as it is top secret until the competition season is over, but here is one of my favourite contemporary pieces from last year. She is the last one to come on stage.

Lastly – this just in – here is my middle son doing what he does best – fraternizing with the ladies. He was helping to make a calendar in support of some cause. What, I’m not sure. I don’t even think he knows. Somebody said the magic word “girls” and he just showed up.

Enjoy, and I hope to be back on my own precious MacBook by tomorrow. I have so much to share in the next week!

Gah. Poking buttons randomly on computers…bad news. But glad to hear the Lionyls are going full steam ahead!

My oldest son only works in one mode – fast forward LOL.

Gosh–whatever would I do without my precious I fruit company products! I shudder to wonder; hopefully you’re back at full speed soon!!!

As for the kiddies, what a talented bunch. I’ll have to give the Lionyls a listen soon as I love music, especially the kind made by hungry musicians–the mainstream taints talent so much.

    Have a great weekend :)

You have very talented children. And I’m not just talking about the two who are musically inclined. No. I’m talking about the one who is resting a soda bottle on his shoulder and looking very cool doing so. My daughter can only balance a pencil on the bridge of her nose and let me tell you, there is nothing cool about how she goes all cross-eyed looking at it. I’m jealous.

LOL. Charles is probably THE most talented. He can also sleep sitting up, make a 24 of beer disappear pretty quick, and destroy a pair of socks and/or shoes in less than a week. ;)

Great kids having a good time. Can you ask for more?

Maybe if they could wipe the microwave out when they are done with it? ;)
